Spiritual Advice in the manner of
Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Eat, Pray, Love”
“I was full of a hot, powerful sadness; and I would
have loved to burst into tears, but I tried hard not to, remembering something
my Guru once said about crying: You should never give yourself a chance to fall apart
because, when you do, the front of your blouse gets wet.
“Then he said, ‘You must practice staying strong.
You must practice being strong to stay strong.’
“So I’m saying to you: ‘Don’t fall apart. Go to the
park instead. Go up to some strange guy in the park and kick him in the jewels.
When you do it, I hope he’s that Guru. He was an asshole.’"
