Spiritual Advice in the manner of
Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Eat, Pray, Love”
“In the end, what I believe about God is simple. It's
like this — I used to have this really, really great dog. She came from the
city pound. She was a mix of about ten breeds, but she was the toughest bitch I
ever met. Except maybe for Kathy Griffin. She was brown. The dog, I mean.
“When people ask me, ‘What kind of dog do you have?’
I always give the same answer: ‘She's a brown dog.’
"Similarly, when the
question is asked, ‘What kind of God do you believe in?’ my answer is easy: ‘I
just told you. She’s a brown dog! What are you…dyslexic? Or maybe you’re just a
retard … like your kids.’”
