Ms. Dominique
tweets her "Quote of the Day"
My relationship with the English is they
love my bawdiness, because I cuss in public. Maybe they like to get away from
“appropriate” behavior. I do understand why they had the British class system.
I don’t know which came first, that or the clothes—because you couldn’t get
dressed without a servant. All the buttons!—Shirley MacLaine, actress on Downton Abbey. She is a film and theater actress, singer, dancer &
author.
“Wow! I really
understand where Shirley is coming from. All those buttons. All those damn buttons!
And the rain and fog. You can’t even have sex in public for all the rain &
fog. I remember one time the damn fog was so thick I had to ask the guy to make
noises so I could get an idea where I was and what I was doing. And so he
farted!
“Those English and
all their hangups. Its always ‘appropriate behavior’ ‘appropriate behavior’—and
where has that got them. They lost their Empire and had to ask the USA to save
their butts in two world wars. And why, back in the 19th century, did British sailors have two button flies on
their uniforms. I mean, it’s like false advertising.”
