Ms. Dominique on
the Writer’s Life:
How long did it take for you to get
where you are today? Any inspirational anecdotes?
“I guess you could say I was an overnight success who took seven years to become one. I guess that counts. I collected rejection notes until I was at about 29 or 30 thousand. I didn't love the being ‘rejected’ part, but it didn't kill me, either. I'd made my vows to write ten pages every day, which was like becoming a nun, at least where I’m from.”
