Ms. Dominique on Writing as a Career

Ms. Dominique tweets:

“Once I finally got myself published, doors opened wide to me—sometimes going both ways—and I’ve found confidence and determination while sitting on many editor’s couches and pitching my story ideas. I've tried to gamely hop on as many of them as I can. I think my vigorous enthusiasm has helped launch several book contracts for me. I think editors really, really enjoy working with me for that reason. 

“But because I have become a successful now, I've lost any credibility to say, ‘I honestly wouldn't want to do this again and again.’ Who would believe that, if I said it? I really love my work an awful lot. That said, of course, I'm really, truly and insanely grateful for my success. And I mean really, really grateful. And insane.”
